Effective date: June 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how the Shinobi : Go app ("the App", "we", "us") handles your information. The App is a client for connecting to Shinobi CCTV/NVR servers that you own or are authorized to access. It is not affiliated with a central service operated by us, and we do not run a backend that collects your data.

Summary

  • The App does not have its own servers and does not send your data to us.

  • All data you enter (server addresses, usernames, passwords, API keys) is stored locally on your device.

  • Video, camera lists, and recordings are streamed directly between your device and the Shinobi server(s) you configure.

  • We do not sell, share, or monetize your data.

Information the App Stores

The App stores the following on your device so it can connect to your servers:

  • Server connection details — server URLs/hostnames, ports, and configuration you enter.

  • Credentials — usernames, passwords, and API keys used to authenticate to your Shinobi server(s). Passwords and keys are kept in the operating system's secure storage (Android Keystore / iOS Keychain) where available.

  • App preferences — settings such as your chosen options for playback and layout.

This information stays on your device. It is only transmitted to the Shinobi server(s) you configure, for the purpose of authenticating and retrieving your camera streams and recordings.

Information the App Accesses

  • Camera video and recordings — live streams and recorded footage are retrieved from your Shinobi server(s) and displayed in the App. This content is not routed through us and is not stored by us.

  • Network access — required to communicate with your Shinobi server(s).

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect personal information on a server we control.

  • We do not include third-party advertising.

  • We do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs to profile you.

  • We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.

How Your Data Is Shared

Your data is transmitted only to the Shinobi server(s) you choose to connect to. Those servers are operated by you or the party that provides them, and their handling of data is governed by that party's own policies, not this one. The security of the connection (for example, whether HTTPS/TLS is used) depends on how your Shinobi server is configured.

Data Retention and Deletion

Because your data is stored locally, you can delete it at any time by:

  • Removing individual servers/connections within the App, or

  • Clearing the App's data, or uninstalling the App, which removes all locally stored settings and credentials.

Permissions

The App may request the following device permissions:

  • Internet / network access — to connect to your Shinobi server(s).

  • Other permissions, if requested, are used solely to provide App functionality (for example, keeping the screen awake during playback).

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

Credentials are stored using platform secure storage where available. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for securing your device and for configuring your Shinobi server(s) (including using encrypted connections) appropriately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective date" above.
